GORDON COUNTY – GEORGIA. Gordon County is currently accepting applications for a Real Property Appraiser with the Board of Assessors. This position will be responsible for performing various office and field appraisal assignments in order to determine fair market value and maintain equitable property valuation for tax purposes. Qualified applicants should have good working knowledge of the fundamental principles of appraisal; possess a high school diploma; good communication skills, both verbal and written; good computer skills; and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Applicants will be required to attend training at out of town locations. Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License and good driving record. Background screening and drug testing required. Must obtain a Georgia Certified Appraiser I designation within one year. Prior experience working in appraisal or related field is preferred.
