GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE (Posted 2/1/10)

Gordon County is considering applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for a grant of up to $500,000. The grant is available under the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant program and must be used to benefit low and moderate-income level people.

The activities for which these funds may be used are in the areas of housing, public facilities, and economic development. More specific details regarding eligible activities, plans to assist displaced persons (if applicable), the estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities to benefit low and moderate income people, and the rating system will be provided at a public hearing to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Gordon County Administration Building, 201 N. Wall Street, in Calhoun, GA.

The purpose of the public hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the application and to review progress on any previous or existing CDBG projects (if applicable). The completed application will be available for public review at the county government’s office after April 1, 2010.
