Office of Sex Offender Investigations Pursuant to O.C.G.A. §42-1-12, the sheriff is directed to “maintain and post a list of every sexual offender residing in each county”. Subsequently, the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office is tasked with the responsibility of collecting, maintaining and validating relative information pertaining to the 115 +/- sexual offenders currently registered in the county. Violations of this law are aggressively investigated, resulting in arrest and prosecution. In addition to this website, the hardcopy registry is available for public inspection and can be viewed, during normal business hours, at the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office (Criminal Investigation Division).
